Very rare running and mostly complete, stock, and rust free 1970 Fiat Spyder convertible. 1972 marked the end of what many consider the golden age of automobiles before the era of emission and safety regulations kicked in starting in 1973 and forever changed the motoring landscape. Almost any 1970-72 car model is a desirable collectible and the 1970 Fiat Spyder with its clean Pinifarina design and twin cam 1600CC engine is no exception with these models especially sought after!
This particular one has a solid body and an excellent engine and transmission which clearly has been rebuilt. It also comes with a host of spare parts that are themselves worth a considerable amount including another engine. The only thing keeping it from a regular daily driver are the brakes (very weak – master cylinder?) and probably a tune up of some kind. The car can certainly be started and the clutch/gears engaged as it sits. There are dozens of articles on-line singing the praises of these cars and detailing all the specs and nuances for you to peruse at your leisure.
I know there will be many questions but the only thing I can say is to look over the pictures provided (note that the faded looking areas are simply clouds reflecting on the paint!) and note that it is a running appreciating solid classic. It would be an excellent candidate with a little TLC for a fun weekend/sports club roadster or a full on restored period classic.
